Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is Jason Markk good for suede?
The good news about the Jason Markk line of cleaning products is that all of them are safe to be used on all types of materials including canvas, suede, vinyl, leather, nubuck, cloth, rubber, nylon, and so on.
Extra care and gentleness are needed when cleaning shoes made from delicate materials such as cotton mesh, premium leather, nubuck, suede, nylon. We recommend that you make use of the Jason Markk Shoe Cleaning Brush. It has softer hog bristles that are ideal to be used on delicate surfaces.
Is It Safe To Use Jason Markk Products?
Absolutely! The main priority we had while making our products was safety. We did not employ the use of any abrasives or harsh chemicals during the production processes of all our products.
Also, all are biodegradable. This simply implies that not only is it safe for the environment, it is also safe to be used on your footwear.
Is It Safe To Use On Suede And/Or Nubuck? If So, How Do I Clean Suede?
Of course, our product is very safe and effective on nubuck and/or suede when you apply it properly. However, suede can be unpredictable due to its textured nature, varying grades, and open pores.
We advise that before you begin the application, you test in a small and inconspicuous area first. Dyed suede will most likely bleed whenever it comes in contact with water so, we do not recommend using our product on dyed suede. You can use it at your own risk, though as there may be variances in individual results.
How does Jason Markk P.S.C. clean and condition?
The emulsification process is the easiest and most effective way of getting rid of stubborn stains such as grease, oil, dirt, marks, etc.
Jason Markk P.S.C. has as a major ingredient, natural oil which serves as a suitable conditioner for your footwear after every cleaning process.
Is Repel Harmful To Me Or The Environment?
Repel is a water-based, environmentally friendly product.
It is not harmful in any way to the environment or yourself and is completely odorless and colorless.
How Do I Apply Repel?
Here’s a detailed guide on how to apply to Repel to your footwears:
Prior to application, make sure that the material is dry and clean.
Apply the spray evenly to cover the whole area of the shoe while holding the bottle upright and about 6 inches to 8 inches away from the shoe.
Ensure that you do not oversaturate the area of the shoe during application.
Dab and soak up the excess product after application using a cloth.
Let it stand for a minimum of 24 hours to ensure complete cure or dryness.
When the first coat has dried properly, put on a second coat by repeating the steps listed above.
Let the shoes be dried completely before you expose them to any form of liquid.
Note that the repellency of the product on your shoe gets stronger with the amount of time you let Repel cure. Simply put, the longer the time you allow Repel to cure, the stronger the repellency.
What Shoes Can I Use Repel On?
Repel can be used on absorbent materials such as canvas, nubuck, and suede. Leathers that have polishes on them or that are sealed (these are known as patent leather) are basically waterproof already.
When Repel is applied to these kinds of materials by accident, make sure you wipe the shoes well with a cloth before the Repel dries on them.
How Long Does Repel Last?
Generally, Repel lasts about 4 to 6 weeks although the amount of time it lasts varies depending on the rate of its exposure to the environment. The best and safest way to measure the effectiveness of your Repel is by placing some drops of water on a shoe it has been applied on and watching how the water beads form and roll off the surface of the shoe.
Clean your shoes with the Premium Shoe Cleaner and allow them to dry properly if there is a need for reapplication of the Repel. Then, follow the instructions on the bottle to carry out a successful reapplication.
Does The Premium Shoe Cleaner Contain Any Harmful Dyes And Will Jason Markk P.S.C. Cause “Yellowing” To Occur On My Sneakers?
The Premium Shoe Cleaner does not contain any form of dyes.
And Jason Markk P.S.C. will not cause yellowing on your sneakers. Instead, it will even reduce the yellowing that has already happened to your sneakers.
What Causes “Yellowing” On Sneakers?
Yellowing on sneakers is a regular occurrence. It is caused by the bleeding of coalescence and plasticizer from midsoles of shoes that are made from plastic and/or synthetic rubber.
Over time, this plastic and/or synthetic rubber reacts with the natural alkaline that’s present in the soils and makes the soles turn yellow. This process can also be quickened by the effects of UV rays.
